T-Shirt Workshops Gallery
Young people get a real buzz from designing and producing their own
t-shirts. Scannning and colouring their designs and then printing them onto transfer paper makes the process simple, cheap and really hands on. The satisfaction they get from taking home an item of clothing that they have decorated themselves is huge and the finished product looks the real deal.
This workshop is a good way to introduce design principles and
colour theory, and I often run it as an ice-breaker for groups who
will go on to do painting projects with me.
As a stand-alone workshop it is effective for getting young people using PhotoShop, the highly versatile industry-standard design package.
I also run this workshop with groups wanting to develop a collective visual identity, but don't want to fork out for expensive commercially printed t-shirts.
