Mural Workshops Gallery
The process of planning, designing and painting a mural is a brilliant way for young people to give life to their ideas; turning them into bold, multi-coloured expressions of their imaginations. Plus they become fledgling aerosol artists in the process and learn the importance of seeking permission before painting walls, of course!
They learn as they work, (solo or in -groups), about composition, technique and style. Perhaps most importantly they get a taste of the sense of achievement that some sustained learning and focussed creativity can bring.
Sharing skills and helping one another to realise their goals builds young people's confidence in their abilities whilst doing something they really enjoy.
Mural projects are a good way to establish ongoing working relationships with the sort of young people that need more than just a quick burst of alternative education to encourage their growth as artists and individuals.
